Common Places To Find Commercial Asbestos

Back in the 1970s and 80s, when the construction of properties – both office and residential – was at a high, many commercial companies materials and products that contained asbestos with them.  Therefore, there are many common places to find commercial asbestos. It was used thanks to its components that made it heat resistant, strong, durable and long-lasting.

It was only in the late 80s and 90’s when it was discovered that asbestos could seriously infect and injure people that it was outlawed in commercial construction and production. However, there are many places within a home or property that might still contain the deadly fibre. These places could include:

    Yes, even parts of your car might have asbestos within them. The most common parts of the car that could host the deadly fibre include the brakes, transmission plates, clutch linings and other friction parts within the car.

  2. Construction Materials.
    Everything from the materials on the roof to wall coverings, from the gaskets to the mechanical products used for your electrical wirings. With asbestos being one of the most common materials during the production of homes during the 1970s and 80s, your home might contain the deadly fibre within its construction materials.

  3. Home Appliances.
    This might sound strange, but in actual fact, many home appliances, such as the stove, air conditioner, the ironing board, the popcorn popper or fume hood can all have asbestos in it, especially if it was made in the 1980s.

  4. Household Goods.
    What do you think is in some fertilisers, potting mixes, or even cigarettes. Yes, there is a slight chance they might have asbestos embedded in their materials. Old household products should be discarded immediately.
